The Colossal Folly of KPR

Welcome to PCVS Corner Stone, a newly-minted blog for sharing information about Peterborough Collegiate and Vocational Institute, the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board's misguided attempts to remove it, and the case for maintaining this essential part of our community.

One week ago, seven Trustees representing the communities of Clarington, Brighton, Cobourg, Douro, Cavan, Ennismore, Buckhorn and Curve Lake out-voted Peterborough Trustees Rose Kitney and Roy Wilfong, ignored the voices of thousands of Peterborough residents, teachers and students, and rubber-stamped a staff recommendation to close PCVS which had been presented to them just three days earlier.

The KPR administration has been guilty of many poor decisions over its brief history, but this one stands head and shoulders above the rest, a towering colossus of bureaucratic folly for the ages to witness.

This blog will be updated regularly with information about PCVS and the struggle by community members to maintain their Corner Stone. Keep coming back - and share the link with your friends! Contributions of information from the public are welcome.
